I really don’t understand all this “white knuckle” driving that is spoken of on these forums. I don’t even know the trailer is back there most of the time, but I’m use to towing.

LOL... its a phrase coined year ago when our 1/2 ton trucks had a 5700-6200 gvwr with a 3.73 axle small narrow brakes shoes and a three speed tranny and a 185-235 hp engine.
And its pushed mostly by folks that had the wrong 1/2 ton truck for the job.

The 5.7 hemi/3.90 axle is a towing machine.....for what it is. You won't have any problems safely pulling its rated tow rating. Looking at Rams 2017 towing guide shows a 10k+ lb tow rating.
Now how much load can your truck carry.
Your truck has a 3900 rawr that going to carry all the load in the bed and on the rear bumper. These trucks rear axle can weigh around 2400-2500 lbs which leaves approx 1400-1500 lbs before exceeding rear axle/tire or a wheel rating.
How much trailer ??? Boils down to how much load the truck can carry.
A 7500 lb gross weight TT may have up to a 1000-1100 lb hitch weight.....or it may have 800-900 lb hitch weight.
Much depends on its dry weight/CCC numbers and its GVWR number.
Pretty simple figuring how much axle/tire weight a truck can carry. But figuring how much hitch weight any trailer will have without weighing after loading ain't so easy. Good luck
