Reese Goose Bax, Cougar Xlite, 6.5 foot short bed
Looking at a 2017 Cougar XLite, and will be pulling it with my Titan XD, Cummins.
As the truck comes with a built in Goose neck frame, it was suggested that I use the Reese Goose Box, which seems like a good idea.
However...... Will I have any clearance issues with the Cougar Xlite as far as making a 90 turn.
If there are no clearance issue, the Goose box is the simply way too go.
Other than that, I will need a slider, and the choice will be an auto slider such as the Super Glide, or a basic manual slide where you have to stop, get out, and unlatch it.

Those short beds can be tough when it comes to fifth wheels. I have seen one person use some sort of extender. I would say mock up the install of the fifth wheel hitch and take some measurements and try to see what kind of clearance will have.

What is the C-A (cab-to-axle) distance for the Titan? GM is around 43 inches, Ford is about 41 and RAM is less. That distance is a major factor in determining your max turning angle along with the front cap design. Bottom line, you won't achieve 90 degrees between the truck and trailer. Second bottom line, you really don't need 90 degrees. And a final point, the sharper you jack-knife the trailer, the more likely you are to cause other issues due to the stress put on tires, bearings, leaf springs, etc.
I have used GM short beds for almost 30 years. Back when front caps were very square, I was limited to about 65 degrees. Today's cap designs can get to 80+ degrees. Anyway, I don't have a slider now and 30 years ago sliders didn't exist, so there was no option. Finally, while a fifth wheel is slower to turn than a TT because of the pivot point, even that 65 degrees is better than a TT can be jack-knifed. Anyway, while it sounds nice to be able to jack-knife to 90 degrees, in reality it isn't required or even desirable to actually jack-knife that far.
