Nice looking truck. That is a far cry from a Wrangler. Without the trailer it is going to require a wee bit more room to park or make a u-turn.

I could have said 350 but she’d still be perfect!

That's a lot of trailer for a 6.2. You might add a Moryde pin box. That will take care of the chucking.

Thanks. I just replaced the OE shocks at 53k with Bilstein 5100’s. I’m hoping that will help.

Shock replacement will help and may make a smoother ride for the truck but the chucking is the pin box banging the hitch. On rough roads is where the dampening will really make a difference. Especially in Texas and Colorado..... Ask me how I know...

Ok, time to get real. The new shocks helped some but not enough for the wife to be happy.

Right now, I’ve got a Curt Q20 on a Curt R20 slider attached to a Reese Ford puck adapter. In hindsight, I should have looked harder (or spent more) for a slider that was ready for the Ford pucks.

I visited a local hitch store and they inspected everything and he said it was all good. He did say that the connection between the Reese and Curt will contribute to some of the chucking as does the slider itself.

He told me to check the tow height front to back as well. The fifth wheel sits about 2.5” high in the front when hitched. The hitch can’t go any lower. The only way to get the front down is to raise the pin box. I have two holes above where it is currently attached. I guess that’s my next move, but I need to get a big torque wrench; 275lbs is what I read.

I’m considering moving to a Reese Ultimate or a Pullrite Superlite. I could really use the 200+ lbs that the slider and adapter are adding….

I raised the pinbox today and am waiting for my wife to come help me get the bolts torqued. I was sad to see that a bird has created a nest inside the pinbox and there’s an egg there :(

Birds love those pin boxes for a home. I had a devil of a time to keep them out of mine. Right now several trash bags & a hitch cover have kept them out.

Leveling the trailer by raising the pinbox made a little change, not enough. As a next step, I bought a Pullrite 2600 and Curt goose ball. I’m waiting for the Rota-Flex lockout kit before I install it. That will hopefully come this weekend.

I did the hitch first because I can sell my current one and recoup some money. If it’s better, great. If not, I’ll be ordering a Moryde pinbox next month.

No, he said she was adding 150lbs to that. I'm guessing she's bringing her purse!
