An experienced and bright dealerperson can get you whichever is best for you. But when the vehicle comes in, they can give you the current incentives at that time if they are better than the locked-in incentives.

I was actually glad to see only the 2.5" reciever with 1 reducer on my new truck...just like the old truck.

But just saying the 3" receiver with 2 reducers are coming. Already on Ford, Chevy and Ram will follow.
My 2018 Ram 2500 6.4 has 2.5-2" receiver. I've never even noticed the reducer when sticking in my 2" ball stinger to pull my utility trailer. The Rams has stops on it so the 2" sleeve stays put when sliding the 2" stinger in and out. Easy peasy.

To the OP, I just traded in my 12 2500 CTD for my 2018 Ram 2500 CC LB 4x4 6.4 4.10. Love everything about it except the fact that it has never passed a gas station it didn't want to visit. Newer diesels get great mpg's and are pulling beasts. My 12 CTD yanked my 9300 lb 5er around with ease. I've only towed 3 times so far with the 18. I knew from previously owning a gasser and towing what to expect. No biggie IMO, let'er rev and go for it. Out on the flats it's quieter than the diesel turning 2100 rpms at 60+.
I also can fill up anywhere anytime I need to and not worry about some crappy diesel from a fly by night fuel station. No more dealing with fuel filters either. Just more $$ thats not needed. If I towed big and heavy then no doubt it'd be a diesel. But the ease of ownership and the $$$$ savings over a diesel puts a smile on my face.

Cumminsfan - I'll be darn, I just looked. Yippee, my F-250 also has stops. The reducer is flanged. Thanks for making me look. Yesterday I was thinking I needed to drill and tap a hole to use a set screw. One less thing to do...again, thanks.

On my 2012 F-450, it would slide as I pushed in the ball mount as it was a straight edged design. I had to use and always pinch my index finger (ouch) as I tried to keep the holes lined up. I guess when a truck gets redesigned lots of little differences are incorporated as improvements [emoji106].

You will like everything you test drive. Right now the 2019 Ram 1500 is a tiny bit nicer than the 2018 F-150.

The Ford Superduty is a tiny bit nicer than the Ram 2500/3500. Ram has factory rear air suspension as an option on their 2500/3500 models.

Ford is all aluminum body which all trucks will soon be.

Oh, the other option you want on a F-250/350 is the tailgate step.
Forgot to mention the tailgate step. I'm short and those tailgates are really high. It's an absolute requirement that the truck is equipped with one.

Curiously, the "loaded up" 2017 XLT in NJ doesn't show the tailgate step, the bronze 2017 Lariat in PA did.

The tailgate step is an option in XL, XLT, Lariat, and King Ranch. The tailgate step is standard in Platium and Limited trim and with the Lariat Ultimate Package and King Ranch Ultimate Package.

This is from the 2018 Superduty Brochure.

I have had the tail gate step on my previous Ford trucks and used it a lot.

Btw, the leather in my ram has done well, even hunting season, well, except the time I left the damp blind bag on the seat but I conditioned it out lol. Now with my retriever the fold flat is out pretty much all the time with a liner

The leather in my Lariat is a lot different than the real leather in the 2012 King Ranch. The Lariat has a tougher looking leather.

I would not eliminate a Lariat because of the leather as it seems like a very tough leather. Lol, also has a vinyl texture.
