We installed running boards (wheel to wheel) on our 2001, at DW's request. I will say I was glad she requested them.

The new to us 2016 Ram DRW had factory step bar, and the height seems very nice for both of us.
I am currently looking for something at the bed though, at 6' I can't reach in my tool box very well.

The truck was 13 years old and needed a new engine it also had many original parts. We travel cross country yearly. We are getting older and auto repairs were getting harder to do.

Just think of all the room short people have inside their trailer. When RVing I think it is better to be short than tall. So being short has some advantages and some disadvantages...same as being tall.
