Stabilizer and Sway bar

This is what my husband has for towing our Gulf Stream 188rb........isn't there something missing....like one of the bars....sway bar or stablizer bar?

Newbie, and trying to make sure we're safe!

Thank you for any help!

Personally I'd add a sway control unit. What you have is a weight distribution hitch and I'd add the sway control although some won't need it. I haven't had a TT since 1988 but even then I had them installed.

Is that something I can just purchase and connect to this unit, or something that has to be installed?

From the pictures, you're missing one of the chain holders that grabs the chain on the end of the torsion bar. Chain holders go on the trailer tongue. You also need a small leverage pipe to torsion the bars when hooking to the chains. Lastly, you need a couple clips to keep the chains in place. I believe all can be obtained at your local RV parts store. Apologies for the parts "names", don't know the rightful ones.

"Lrakeahs"......Your load leveling system is complete, with the exception of a short piece of tubing, used to install the chain links (leverage bar). With that said, you really need to tell us what your towing and what your towing it with. If you have a 1 ton pickup and towing an 18' trailer, you wont need any of that equipment. If you're using a half ton pick up to tow a 30' trailer, you'll need the system posted above, plus....you might need a sway control unit to help keep the truck/trailer under control.

There are many videos on connection a weight distributing hitch on you tube. Watch a few and it will make sense.
