This came in the mail today

I just got back from the local Ford Dealer. I took this into them and that said yes, work your best deal them present this to get an additional 2g's more off my best deal. As long as I do it before the July expiration date.

Kinda cool, but means I will have very few 2019 Ram trucks and no 2019 Chevy trucks to look at.

I am going to add Nissan XD to check.out but looks like early July I am pressured to use this Truck coupon.

I am leaning toward a Ford Eco-Boost anyway.

Are you more likely to get a better deal from a dealer who doesn’t know that you have the coupon?

Can you use more than one coupon? Years back, in St. Louis, a Ford dealer had a coupon in the back of the Yellow Pages for $100.00 off on a new Ford. So a woman took 150 coupons to the dealer and chose her new car. and tried to pay for it with the coupons. The Judge later ruled that since the coupon didn't say "One per Deal", she could pay for the car with the coupons. Get 49 more coupons! Eddie Elk.

Love the coupon story!!

I hate the whole wheel and deal of buying a vehicle. Just give me the rock bottom price to begin with.

Yeah, I received one too. But it says "take new retail delivery from (Ford) dealer's stock by 7/9/18."

I don't want a leftover 2018, so only a 2019 will do. If the 2019 F-150 order bank is now open, expecting a new 2019 F-150 to be delivered to the dealer by July 9 is wishful thinking, even if I order tomorrow. SuperCrew Lariat HDPP 501A with max tow pkg and tow mirrors won't be in any dealers initial batch of 2019 F-150 orders. But you never know what my ittty bitty Ford dealer can wrangle out of his Ford zone manager. Maybe a "valued customer" exception because I bought a new 1999.5 F-250 and later ordered a new 2012 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost from that itty bitty Ford dealer. Plus I ordered a 2017 Flex from him, but canceled the order when Ford didn't even have it scheduled it for production 7 weeks after the order date.

But just in case, I'll visit my local Ford dealer tomorrow and see what he thinks.

Do you know what will be different 2019? I am thinking just cosmetic wheels, bumpers, grill.

Years ago I was in the same situation. Needing to order a new truck but the delivery date would be tight to get it into 'dealers stock' in time for the discount. So after price was set and unit ordered, I offered to split the discount 50/50 IF they could beat the deadline. It worked and we both benefited.

As I suspected, the 2019 F-150 order bank will not open until late July. Fleets can order 2018 F-150s until some time in August. So don't expect to see any 2019 F-150s on dealer lots before October.

But if you want a 2019 SuperDuty with the aluminum body, the order bank is already open. If you order now, you can probably be driving one by July 4th.

I'll wait for the 2019 F-150 order guide to be available, probably late July, before I decide exactly what I want. My dealer says the new diesel engine in an F-150 is going to be the new hot potato. Several of his fleet customers have indicated they want one of the first F-150 diesels in town.

And he verified that all the hype about the 2018 F-150 Raptor is true. Demand far exceeds supply. MSRP is the minimum you will pay, and $5,000 over MSRP is now common. And my itty-bitty Ford dealer has allocation for only one Raptor per year. Poor guy.

Good info. I saw Fast Lane Trucks test the Nissan Titan XD diesel engine VS Gas engine in identical trucks towing up the Ike Gauntlet. The cummins 5.0 diesel did not do as well as the gas 5.6 litre engine.

I am thinking the diesel engines in the 1/2 ton trucks are going to be pokey like the Ram Eco-Diesel. These engines are probably being tuned for fuel economy and not power.

Any word on any changes to the 2019 F-150...other than the diesel engine?

Yeah, here's the headline from an article in Automotive News last week:

"Ford Diesel F-150 cracks 30 mpg mark
April 23
Author: Michael Martinez

The first diesel version of the Ford F-150 will be rated at 30 mpg in highway driving, making it the most fuel-efficient full-size pickup on the market when it hits showrooms next month."

Next month? That means adding the diesel engine to the order guide for the 2018 F-150 which will continue production at least into August.

All quiet on the western front. I don't subscribe to Automotive News, but I do receive their free summary of the weekly article headlines.

I used my $2,000 Ford Voucher last night on a new 2017 F-250 2WD locking rear diff 6.2 litre gas engine Lariat trim truck.

Nice truck. Let us know how it tows, I have a friend that is planning on buying the 4x4 version of that truck to tow his TT, as his Suburban isn't quite up to doing the task very comfortably.

Congrats! Personally, I'm a RAM/Cummins guy, but Ford sure does make their SuperDuty trucks look good. As requested already, let us know how it does towing.
