Tire monitoring
We have a 2021 Alpha Wolf that came with the valve stem “monitors” which display of the tires are at the right pressure. That’s great and all for looking before you go, but has no use going down the road.
I started looking at a lot of different TPMS systems and there are a million options that became almost overwhelming! What is recommended? The camper is 32 overall and my truck about 22. If I can do it without an extender that would be ideal, but not sure that’s reasonable. My first thought was get the Lippert Linc since everything else in the camper works with OneControl.
What do you recommend and why?

I’ve been using the TST 507 for 12 years. It has worked without any problems. There are several TPMS that can do the job for you. If you do a search you’ll find quite a few threads addressing this topic.

We’ve been using the EEZ RV Products TPMS system for the last three years without any problems. Easy to order from Amazon or directly from them, easy to install and set up, and great customer service. You only have to change the batteries every 20,000 miles or so.
Recently had a blow out on the toad and the TPMS immediately alarmed and allowed us to get to the side of the highway before the tire was completely flat. Probably saved the rim from damage.

If the current TPMS is mounted inside the stems in a rubber grommet, you’ll need to have your tire shop replace the stems with steel stems. If you have dally rear wheels, the stem on the inner tire will need an extension.
Whichever TPMS you buy, they’ll usually recommend their stem and extension of choice. You’ll also get a ton of advice on this forum. Tires are a very popular subject, as they should be.

TST systems seem to be the most popular choice. They are also fairly pricy (I think for my trailer it would be about $450 or in that neighborhood). I bought these items from Amazon last October. They do the job. The display can be a bit tough to read, but not so bad. You have to "wake up the wheels" to get the current pressure when you start off. And by that I mean you have to drive for a bit and the sensors will start transmitting. I usually take a picture of the display before I start off and then compare it to what it shows after I get going since there is no indication I know of that the display has lost contact with the sensors. It does come with a transmitter boost antenna you wire into 12 V. It gives pressure and temp of the individual wheels and if you get slow leak or blowout it gives an audible alarm pretty fast (you can test it by unscrewing one of the sensors and the display head will trip the alarm. The display has a solar charging panel and I never have to plug it into charge the internal battery. For $159 it seems to do the trick.

Another TST fan. Compare the cost to the damage created when a tire takes out the underside of your trailer and the one time investment is well worth it. A set of batteries every year is your only maintenance.

I don't know about the TST's but for a number of other brands, with that length of trailer, you may need a booster. Also, make sure you have metal valve stems. If the wheels are aluminum in some cases you might have to use an inner mount type to get one that fits. I have an EEZtire and with my 25 ft. trailer and it occasionally loses signal on a single tire while traveling but after awhile gets it back. But could be interference from other remote devices. I've heard that even some remote thermometers such as we use on our fridge and freezer can interfere.

I've used the tiresafeguard system on my 5th wheel and the boat trailer that i double pull. They advertise no need for extenders and i have no trouble getting a signal, even from the second trailer. A friend has the TST and had to buy a booster for his 33'fifth wheel as it consistently lost the back axle. As others say, you want metal valve stems, and with the popular aluminum wheels, you will want the stems that have the mounting nut on the inside. YMMV

What system is it? My XLR Nitro (Same company as yours, Forest River) came with a TST system that shows tire pressure and temperature while going down the road. It has to be programed, but it is pretty simple.

Quick question. Are the valve caps that go on the valve stem green with a yellow tire pressure emblem on it? A friend of mine bought an Alpha Wolf and his had TST installed on it.

I bought a "Vesafe" system that came with 6 valve cap senders. It was a good deal less $ that the TST and it works fine.
My trailer is 30 overall, and the truck is a Crew Cab and it works fine with the monitor set in the console and no booster.
It even shows the spare on the back of the trailer.

Have the TST system on a 35' trailer. Works well and the extender wasn't a big deal to install. As stated earlier, make sure you have the metal valve stems as the mfg doesn't recommend the rubber ones at speed because of the weight of the transmitter.

Whichever system you use, try it without an extender first. My last trailer (30'), that had metal sides, needed an extender for the TPMS to work reliably. My current trailer (36'), that has fiberglass sides, works great without the extender.

I've used TireTraker for 8 years. First on my 5th wheel and know on my MH. Twice they alerted me with my 5th wheel. Once in rush hour traffic in Houston (hi temp) and once on the open road with a slow leak. Both alarms were valid. With my MH I had them on my MH and the dingy and a sudden air loss was detected on the dingy which was valid. The sensors have user replaceable batteries and are now guaranteed for life. The current system comes with a booster and four sensors for $199. I just sold my MH but kept my TireTraker incase we get a travel trailer. I really recommend TireTraker, but definitely get a TPMS that gives you real time readings in the cab!
