Temperature DOES have a significant impact on tire pressure. Far, far more than elevation-- roughly 2% change in tire pressure for every 10 degrees F (higher temperature= higher tire pressure).

Why did you go to 80 PSI, cause you can? Read the sticker on the door for max pressure with max payload.....
