Tonneau Cover with 5er
Looking to add a fairly inexpensive soft tonneau cover to my 2014 Ram DRW long bed to cover my hitch and generator when not towing.
I need something that won't interfere with the camper.
Interested in the tri-fold style... curious does anyone have one? Any issues with contacting the trailer when it is folded up behind the cab? Or should I stick with a rollup?
Any experience with the tyger brand?
Eventually I would like to move up to something like a roll and lock or the peragon, but those aren't in the cards for a few years.

I have one of the Tri-fold units on my truck and it works well. I can lock it closed when not towing but be aware that when folded up for towing it sticks up about 4 inches above the bed rails. I did not think about it until I was in a tight turn and on a slant and the 5th wheel got "very" close to making contact with it.

I have an Extang tri-fold on a long bed. No worries when towing on the road. I have come within an inch when backing in but that's all. Loading stuff like firewood underneath and up front can be a pain but it stays dry and pretty much out of sight when towing. It looks good closed and seems to be pretty durable as I am on my 3rd year with it. My only complaint is that it drips some water when raining which is a problem in the Northwest. I thought about one that folded up behind the rear window but I like to be able to see my rail clearances when backing.

I had one on my 2012 f250 short bed that worked perfectly with the 5'ers.
I took off to put on the f350 I traded on, but when it was delivered a ford roll up cover was included...
I liked the trifold much, MUCH better than the roll up one... just flip twice and clip to hold down...
but never got around to swapping it and it's sitting in my garage :(

Check out the Bak Roll-X. Rolling hard aluminum cover that locks along the edges unlike other rolling covers, and when rolled up does not block the entire rear window.

I have had both the Lund roll up and now the Lund trifold. Both excellent products. Used for over 10 yrs. I prefer the trifold as the roll-up gets real hot in Texas and is difficult to roll/unroll when it is hot on the hands. Downside is noted above when trying to get in the forward section with cover open.

We have a truxedo truxport rollup on ours. No issues. $299 Prime shipping...had it on 30 minutes after the fedex guy left.
AH! one issue, I can't see the hitch anymore unless in maneuver mode, and the lady can't see it at all. Just when I was getting her hitching it regularily...ah well...

We have an Extang aluminum tri-fold and love it! Has never interfered with the fiver. Can lock the tailgate and stuff in bed is secure when unfolded. Also supports 300# - handy when I need to wash the top of the truck cab. Thought about the roll-ups but couldn't justify the extra expense.

My Truxedo roll-up works great - covers the 5th hitch when unhooked and is completely out of the way when towing. It's about 95% water-tight and not great from a security standpoint but does keep curious eyes off of things.
