Looking for an answer : Were looking to buy a 2021 Volvo SUV with
"all wheel drive". If we use a tow dolly , can we tow this vehicle,
with the rear wheels on the pavement. Will the" ALL Wheel drive" feature
be damaged? Thanks

Towing my Volvo Behind Another Vehicle

If you would like to tow your Volvo behind another vehicle, such as a motor home, the best method is to tow your Volvo with all 4 wheels securely raised off the ground i.e. on a flat bed. If that is not possible, Volvo recommends the following:


Front wheel drive (FWD) models: you can tow your Volvo behind another Volvo using a tow dolly that has the front wheels securely suspended off the ground. Your Volvo should always be towed in the forward facing direction. The maximum speed for towing your FWD Volvo is 50 mph.


All-wheel drive (AWD) models: we do not recommend you tow your Volvo behind another vehicle as you can damage your transmission and AWD unit.


*If you must tow your AWD Volvo with the front wheels off the ground the maximum speed should not exceed 45 mph and should not be towed farther than 30 miles.
