Does the OP understand that the best option is a 28' 6,500 lb. travel trailer ? Not a 30' 5th wheel without getting a bigger truck like a F-250/F-350 with a gas engine that will have a 3,500lb cargo capacity.
Ford will have the 6.8 litre gas engine as standard on the newest Ford's. That engine with a 30' 5th wheel would be ideal.

I’ve got a 24’ TT, 27’ overall length, and it’s a perfect fit for my Tundra. I wouldn’t consider putting a 5er on it. We’ve had several 5ers and they are nice. When I bought my first 5er, I had a 1991 Silverado SWB, and the salesman said, “No problem.” I pulled it to a campground 30 miles from home, and when that trip was over, I immediately bought a 2500 diesel.

I never looked at that yellow driver's side door sticker until 2006 when I noticed it while cleaning the truck. Since then I play close attention to the cargo/occupant capacity. So the OP not knowing that a 5th wheel will not be possible with his truck is natural if he never put two and two together.
Heck - in 2000 I am not sure what I knew about trucks. I will say very little. I never knew a F-150 from a F-250 or F-350. But once you buy a truck you gotta know it's capabilities IMHO.

Sadly, and I fell into this category until a few years ago, most of us look at the advertisements, the brochure on the vehicle, and (egads!) listen to the sales person, and think when they say it has a tow capacity of a jillion pounds, we are good. Axle ratings, payload, and good old common sense are not considered. And including in the payload calculation the onboard passengers is always an afterthought.
Even listening to U-Haul rentals, they have good online guides I believe, but I have seen some questionable trailers - tow vehicle combos on the road.
I never looked at 5th wheel setups because I need my truck bed too often. However, I probably would have assumed a half ton truck could handle some of the 5th wheels I see going down the road. However, when you start really looking at the payload, it becomes obvious there will be a problem.
I had a 2001 Chevy Tahoe and it was one of the earlier models with 3rd row seating. Turns out, Chevy shipped the versions with 3rd row seating with a heavier suspension and rear axle and larger brakes to deal with the extra weight of what they claimed were 3 adults in that 3rd row seat, and extra 600 pound possibility. (I can't imagine 3 extra adults back there, it was tight enough with the grandkids.)

Salesman ugh - about a week ago I was looking at a fairly big travel trailer and the salesman said a F-150 can tow 13,200 lbs. I said I don't think so and explained that was a special F-150 with the 163" wheelbase and had the HDPP option. He said that was true.
Ford, Ram and GM have some really nice capable trucks but they all have their limits.

That happens a lot on some of the forums I'm on. Someone will create an ID, ask one question, and just never respond. I suppose they got their answers, and that's what they needed.

I suspect that's true. At least they got the answers they need.

All too many are just trying to get a few folks to agree with them. They feel that there has t be safety in numbers.

I would suggest a 28' travel trailer with a big slide in the living room/kitchen. They have plenty of room inside and they come at a reasonable weight.
And since you're going into some mountains, consider a Blue Ox or Hensley premium brand of weight distribution hitch and sway system. Stay away from the cheap WDH's with the friction sway control.
