I have a 2022 Shadow Cruiser and want to carry 2 e-bikes attached to the rear bumper. One company rep said the bumper will carry 300 lbs. but another rep said that the bumper is not rated for weight. My e-bikes weigh 65 lbs each plus the weight of the rack for a total of about 160 lbs. Has anyone attached a rack to the rear bumper of a Shadow Cruiser for bikes or anything else? And what was the weight?

If you don't have a receiver hitch on the rear under the bumper then you can't put two ebikes on the bumper.
You need to have someone weld a hitch on the back.

I agree with above post. Can you put the E-Bikes inside the trailer ? Or carry them somewhere else?

You don't want expensive e-bikes hanging on a flimsey TT bumper. Get a proper hitch welded on. Or better yet carry them inside.

The weight needs to hang off the frame. the bumpers are just thin sheet metal. very shortly the vibration of supporting your bikes will have the mounting bolts tear through.
I have seen some that held up a small motorcycle, that used a 2" square tube receiver at each frame rail. it made a solid connection to carry a couple hundred pounds. DR

check with the manufacture. Also check with the bike rack manufacture. Many bike racks are not designed for the rear of a trailer and the warranty is void if you use it on a trailer. The rear of a trailer bounces are much greater then the rear of a auto or truck.

Agree, we carry our 2 e-bikes in the bed of the truck. Would never consider placing them on the back end of the trailer.

With the battery and front tire removed makes for easy loading. Mounted on a Kuat Dirtbag they fit nicely in our short bed truck.

Cost was $55 for the pair. Screwed them down on a 2x6.

Our TT has a frame mounted bolt on rack. But it is bolted to the frame rails. Not the bumper. It came from the factory , but the bolt on racks are out there. DR

Hello Biker 2, I have a 2011 funfinder made by Cruiser RV and I know there is no way that I would want to hang that kind of weight on the back of my bumper. I don't think they put the bumpers on any better in 22. You will need to have a frame mounted receiver hitch to carry that kind of weight because it's not just the weight up and down but as you travel back and down the roads it will be moving back and forth as well trust me those bumpers will not take that kind of strain.

You don't say which Shadow Cruiser you have. As a heads up another consideration would be hanging 130 lbs plus weight of hitch and rack off the back of your trailer will reduce tongue weight. This needs to be part of your calculation.

Yep, this. TW is the most important thing for a stable tow.

My ORV has a frame mounted hitch that they rate at 250lbs; more for the effect on TW than the strength of the hitch.

I put my E-Bikes in the bed of my truck.
