WDH and a Ford excursion.

Spent the better part of three hours getting my new Reese WDH setup on my unit.
With no scale it's was a lot of trial and error trying to get the Tow vehicle, hitch bars and camper all level.
Camper is loaded as we normal use it
Truck rear is 1/2 inch down and front is 1/2 inch up when loaded verses no camper.
Drove it about ten miles round trip and I'm pleased with the results

Looks good.

The biggest problem with an Excursion towing a TT is it's very easy to exceed the GVWR of the X-Car. You have enough GVWR to tow either a wagon load of people or the hitch weight of a decent-sized TT, but not both at the same time.

So when on the road loaded with people and wet and loaded TT, fill up with fuel then weigh the rig on a CAT scale. Add the weights on the steer and drive axles and compare the total to the GVWR of the X-Car

Your hitch setup sounds good. The front fender well being one-half higher with the trailer than without is the max Ford recommends. (The industry standard is now zero to one-half inch higher when the spring bars on your WD hitch are properly adjusted.)

I eventually went with a V and B code spring swap and a rear sway bar and i am very happy with it. I dont have a huge trailer but my tongue weight is 830 lbs if im towing water couple with my 4 - 6 volt batteries etc.
