Looks good.
The biggest problem with an Excursion towing a TT is it's very easy to exceed the GVWR of the X-Car. You have enough GVWR to tow either a wagon load of people or the hitch weight of a decent-sized TT, but not both at the same time.
So when on the road loaded with people and wet and loaded TT, fill up with fuel then weigh the rig on a CAT scale. Add the weights on the steer and drive axles and compare the total to the GVWR of the X-Car
Your hitch setup sounds good. The front fender well being one-half higher with the trailer than without is the max Ford recommends. (The industry standard is now zero to one-half inch higher when the spring bars on your WD hitch are properly adjusted.)
