By 12 pounds I assume you meant 12,000 pounds gross trailer weight, or 1,200 pounds maximum tongue weight.

That might be too heavy-duty for your trailer, but it looks like an Equal-I-Zer. If it's adjustable the way an Equal-I-Zer is adjustable, then you can adjust the tension on the trunnion bars to exert only the tension you need for the actual tongue weight of your wet and loaded trailer.
My ProPride hitch is rated for 1,400 pounds max tongue weight, but the tension on the spring bars is adjustable so it tows my small TT with 650 pounds tongue weight with no problems.
