Weigh Safe True Tow User reviews?

I am thinking of trying this WDH, Weigh Safe True Tow.

I watched the vid done by Wandering Weekends......and have read several positive user reviews from several months ago.

Can anyone using this hitch give me your feedback, pros, cons, sway mitigation etc.

Thanks

Rich

I ordered one last week. Got a good price and no sales tax, double bonus. It comes in 4 packages. the first arrived today the other 3 are somewhere on Fedex truck between Denver and KC. Wish I could tell you about how well it does or doesn't work, but i've got to wait on the other 3 packages, oh and I've got to wait for the new truck. It has the 2 1/2" hitch and my 1/2 ton only has a 2" receiver.

On edit.
The last 3 boxes just arrived. I can't believe how stout this thing is. All 4 boxes total out to 147#. When I get the new truck and can bring the trailer from storage, I'll assemble it, but I'm highly impressed with the build quality.

If I can figure out how to post pictures I'll be glad to.

I ordered a Ram 3500 On Oct 28. It is supposed to ship Jan 23. Based on those dates given to me from the dealer, I expect it to be built the middle of next week. I hope to have it to the dealership by mid Feb, (good lord willing and the creeks don't rise).

Great hitch

We use Ram 3500srw gasser to pull our Jayco 33RBTS with the weigh safe true tow rated at 1500/15000
This is the third wdh we’ve tried and It’s the best hitch I’ve had! Very stout and no more porposing. We came from a Curt which was a good hitch but only rated for 1200/12000. Our tongue weight is 1350 and once the hitch is dialed in it works great. Very easy setup using the app and 3/4 socket. Be aware it is a heavy hitch

Warranty Experience (Positive) May 2024

I know this is an old thread but I though I would add to it since it was one of things that helped me decide to purchase a weigh safe middle weight weight distribution hitch.

I got the hitch, works great on my 2014 Ram 3500 and 35' travel trailer.

I went into town forgetting I still had the hitch on the truck, once there I removed the hitch so it wouldn't get stolen and put it in the back seat and continued with my errands. Of course, when i opened the backdoor it fell out, about 3 feet, on to the pavement.

I discovered the scale seemed to be damaged, with no load on it it showed 1800 lbs on the scale. No other damage apparent on the hitch, no cracked glass or leaks.

I contacted Weigh Safe, they got back to me the next day, I told them it was 100% my fault and was wondering how much it would cost to fix. They said not to worry they'll just cover it under warranty, just take photos from all angles and let them know if there are any obvious leaks. They recommended I contact the Canadian Distributor to get started.

I went through the Canadian distributor for the repair/warranty options and for some reason he couldn't deal with it. Weigh Safe picked up the ball and I dealt with them from then on. I had previously emailed this guy about an 8" drop hitch for weigh safe and he never followed up so not sure what his drama is as he is the distributor WS recommends to contact in Canada.

I eventually spoke to WS on the phone to work out final details, I am in Canada so I would have to pay the international shipping which is fairly typical when dealing with warranty stuff in the US. About $250 CAD. They shipped out a new hitch complete with UPS, just under two weeks.

The only hiccup was when I sent my address in an email, their auto response kicked in a couple times saying they couldn't ship to Canada and use the distributor up here. If you're Canadian and they go radio silent after a couple emails just call them.

So long story made longer, excellent customer service, response time was great, and friendly to talk to on the phone.

I agree, great company. Not a warranty issue for me but a distributor issue. I was missing items from my order and needing to get the hitch installed. It wasn't looking good on the distributor issue getting resolved quickly. Great customer service. They look to take a lot of pride in what they do and sell which is a breath of fresh air now a days. I have the heavy weight set up and am very pleased with it.
