The new 6.7 does not require cab off repairs. 6.0 and 6.4 did in some extreme cases.
The 6.7 is available from 2011+
Also, the Super Dutys have power Fold and and power extending mirrors. Also, the Super Duty dually in an incredibly stable towing platform

The Fords never HAD to remove the cab. It just made the job easier and quicker. Still applies!

I Don't know where they come with the Ram quality suffering. I have owned a 94 , 06 and presently own a 14 3500 srw which is by far the nicest in fit finish interior of any l have owned.
Give me an inline 6 any day over a V8 . Longer stroke 2 less cylinders injectors valves and parts to deal with.
Go look at the iternal parts of a 6.7 heavy duty to the max. Ford has been trying to catch up to Cummins for years .

In case anyone is wondering why the inline 6 "long"(er) stroke diesel is a design that Cummins has stuck with for so much of the lighter and medium duty truck engines could simply be based on the success of the big straight six in heavy duty trucking.
If you weren't wondering, I apologize for the extra noise.

I would disagree as I have worked on several of these trucks but the fact remains, even if you are right it's still a huge repair bill that becomes a not if but when situation.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken as I've never done it myself, but I'm under the impression that those cabs are designed to be fairly easy to pull off with the use of a lift. Is that not true?

They are still pretty simple to remove, but Ford improved the design to allow for much easier repair, cab on.

As airbrush guy said above, you have to wonder why you don't see more GMCs on the road. My husband, having worked for GM, sings the praises of the Duramax engines, and thinks the GMC is a great truck. He still gets a small discount on them, and we're still not convinced that changing to a Dodge or Ford provides enough benefit to us. But we wonder why most people we see on the road and indeed on this forum drive Dodge or Ford. BTW, my husband is retired now and can drive anything he wants. :-)

GMC branded pickups are the reliability leader according to Consumer Reports at the time they gathered info for the '15 model year.

It doesn't have to come off, just makes it much easier if you have the capability...

I believe (and this is totally personal opinion) that the brand loyalists of days past are slowly giving way to a newer generation of "buy what works, looks best, and I get a good deal on" which may be why.
Around here for example you see WAY more Ram heavy duty in the field and campgrounds. The reason I can immediately see is that Ram seems to cut their own throat to get their trucks on the road. Ford is a close second (no matter what the numbers say) and GM/ Chev is dead last. The GM dealer here is notoriously difficult to deal with from starting the buying process all the way through service. Very little negotiating room, lesser incentives, and a truck that has not had a major refresh in quite some time other than a bit of cosmetic massaging.
In the end- no one maker is better or any more reliable. They all have recalls. They all have issues. They all have the capability to tow like freight trains. My money is on my Ram. Had an F series. Didn't like it. Had a GM. They screwed our family around for so many years with a number of vehicles- won't ever darken their doorstep again.
Truck manufacturers that still rely on the old school thought "They will buy it because they are fan boys" are in for a rude awakening real quick.

We just completed our treck from NW WA tho SoCal. Usually RAM is #1 by far with independent RV haulers/HotShotters a ways behind is GM and Ford is way behind. A few years ago it was RAM, Ford and GM.
This trip we did not see a single GM of Ford. Similar story in the full timers Campgrounds.
Heck if any of you have been members of the Suites Owners Forums there has been a drastic change there in ownership since I joined 4 years age. Back then the vast majority were F450's. Now RAM and GM are well represented there.

Makes perfect sense I heard sales of G.M. and Ford have dropped to zero .They both threw in the towel and went home
"we give up"
Ram is the world ,no the universe ,unending towering superiority ........ I have to stop now I feel faint

Funny, you sound just like a Ford guy. That is what half of them say about the F trucks. You know the line if it does not have a blue ovel it is not worth driving. Read it all the time.
