We've traveled both 3x3 in our F-450 and 2x2x2 in our Excursion. The six of us went cross country in the Excursion without complaint. I wouldn't want to do the 3x3 thing in the crew cab for more than a few hours.

In the late 80's (high school days), I had 9 in the cab of my 1972 Chevy C10. I was driving but could only steer and reach the clutch and brake pedals. A second person shifted (3 on the tree) and ran the gas pedal. The other 7 were just along for the ride. Made it from the local high school to Pizza Hut after the basketball game without incident. . .somehow.

Oh those were the days. . .

Fast forward 30 years - our F250 has the front center console so we can't do 6 in the cab. Given the size of the cab, I think we could pull it off if we had that middle seat. There are many times I wish we had that 6th seat instead of the console.

I wish we had the consol instead of the seat. We have 4 and it seems like theres always someone trying to weasle a ride out of me. Its bad enough the dog has taken over the armrest any time we go anywhere.

We made 3 trips from Nebraska to Kentucky pulling a 5th wheel with 3 in the front seat 3 in the back and a small dog. It sucked. My daughter graduated and dosen't travel with us anymore. So there is a more room.
I quit using a pickup to pull my camper. I got a semi and pulled the bed out to put seats in the back. We have gobs and gobs of room now.
