On my Ram, clearance lights are part of the optional "Level 1 equipment group".

I wish my truck had those cool looking clearance lights. My last truck had them and I liked the way they looked. My current truck has a light package but no clearance lights on my 2017 F-250.

I did read clearance lights might leak but that would not scare me off from getting a truck with them. I like them.

The Ford Superduty configurator for Canada has them optional on both the 2500 and 3500SRW.....I'd have to check the DRW.

Anecdotally, most 2500's around here don't have them.

On edit; the F350 DRW automatically gets the clearance lights when you change to DRW

Dave

Federal rules require the clearance lights on a vehicle with a width over 80". 2500/3500 SRW trucks (excluding the Tremer) are all under that width, and do not require it, although pretty much any 3500 will have them. The dually's are all over the 80", and require the lights. If your trailer is over that width, it will come with the lights also.

Yep, exactly my understanding

Pretty much all larger trailers are 8' (96") wide up to 102" in some cases. All the trailers in that category appear to have 2 clearance markers up top from what I have seen and remember. I cannot remember seeing one with 5 clearance lights.

When I had my trailers inspected after importing from the USA the inspection tech told me either the tow vehicle or the trailer require the 5 clearance lamps in that size category. They could be wrong. I remember having the Suburban for the 1st TT and he warned me I was illegal and could be ticketed. He almost wanted me to disconnect and drop the TT there and return with an appropriate tow vehicle...in broad daylight.

On our Ram I installed an air dam lights on the front, and then added lights under the doors. The lights under the door are running, turning lights, then when you open the door nice bright courtesy white lights.
When at a stop light and making a turn, the lights under the door flash that side, so people can see I am turning. Also on the back, the tailgate light I added does the brake, turn, taillights. Then when I put it in reverse it turns white, letting me have a good light to see behind.

Yea I wish mine had the clearance lights. Really like the look. Mopar sold a clearance light kit for RAMs up to at least 2019, but no longer offers it for my 2021. Probably a good thing, I'd hate to go thru the trouble to add them and then have it leak on me.

You dont say what the tounge weight of your loaded stryker is..but i will venture a guess that if you try to pull it with a 2500 youll be overweight
Right out of the box..you gain nothing but a better
Unhitched ride with a 2500. So why risk your familys safety?? I know used 1 tons are hard to find right now...but dont settle. Its not worth the risk

I just took delivery of a new F-350 7.3. I did not order it with clearance lights. My 5er has lights on it and the clearance lights just looked ugly on the truck so I didn’t click the box. It’s def not required and totally up to the user. I will say that having all 3 brands I 100% prefer this 7.3. The Chevy is slow with that 6 speed and the Ram 6.4 is not a reliable engine. Fingers crossed that this old school pushrod v8 is good for many years.

Not to start a brand war, but to say Ford engines are more reliable than RAM is just plain wrong. And I know people who would never pick a Ford over a Chevy. It's all rumor and personal experience. The only engine I'd question today is the new Tundra and that's only because it's the first year after replacing the Toyata bulletproof 5.7.

The engines not the only part you need to be concerned with.
