AC units size\brand recomendation

HI all,

I have an small 14' travel trailer without an Air Conditioner (see attached pic). I would like to install an AC unit, but I am unsure what BTU rating to get. I'm thinking 13,500 btu. I will be camping in the hot & humid Midwest. Also, what are the good brands & what are the bad brands based on your experience.

Thanks, paul

13.5k to 15k, not much difference in cooling, really. As 13.5k units are used in RVs that are 30' long, you should be fine with either.
I don't know that there is a bad "brand" - different heights, heat-strip, non-heat-strip, etc...

Hot and humid Midwest? That's a joke right? 13.5 btu is plenty. We had a carrier unit once upon a time. It had a "dry" feature which seemed to take out the humidity better than just running the ac on auto. Only had one of those units out of 5 TT so I don't know how common they are aftermarket wise.

I wasn't joking. I'm sure there are lots of humid states, but Missouri can be down right humid in the late summer months.

Is there a separate hole for the ac or are you going to use an existing vent location? You may want to cut another hole because you would miss the fan. If your fans are not Fantastic Fans replace them and use their covers also.
