Just wanted to share what I did with my Hybrid Camper bunk ends. Might be something you want to do. Let me know what you think.

That is a idea I have not seen before. With only silicon holding the 4-5" base molding material, how do you think it will hold up while driving?

On mine a 1/2" half round rubber seal was added to the metal lip on the backside of the bunk door to line up with the larger rubber seal attached in the bunk cavity. Mine would leak only if driving in heavy rain, so the extra half round did the trick. This only had to be done with the front bunk during it's warranty period.

Any hybrid owner should pay close attention to water leaks in the bunk doors, because water starts seeping in to the wood core, you don't want a problem down the line with rotted out bunk doors.

Were on our 2nd hybrid (05' & 13') and if I remember the first one had the same water leak and fix.

I used alot of silicone and then sealed the bottom edge with a bead of silicone so no lift could be created to pull the top piece up from the bottom. I also put a bead of silicone down the sides of the trim installed . I believe it will hold fine, I guess time will tell.

I thought about putting some screws in thru the frame, but decided to give the silicone a try first before I go putting holes in door frame.

I have an 05 Trail Lite by Trail Vision (Trail Manor) bought new with three pop out bunks 1 Queen, (frnt) and 2 Full size (1 on either side in the rear) I have not noticed any leaks anywhere but am interested in what you did in those regards. The video you posted on YouTube are no longer available... Not sure what to look for and how to do the fix.....

I originally thought that this was a great idea until I was setting up my camper the other day.

The flashing that I thought was brilliant, would be in the way of the skirting on the tent end.

What a bummer!!!!

The flashing only sticks out about an inch past the ends with the cove facing up.

If anything it gives your outer skirting a better seal when you connect your skirting bungee cords. It only effects the outer skirting, this has no effect on the inner velcro connected skirting. The outer skirting easily goes over the flashing, and the flashing conforms and bends up to the skirting.

You may have to slightly guide the seal by pushing it up as you pull your outer skirting down over.
