Pop out queen bed.

Hi . Well we purchased a used surveyor hybrid by forest river. It’s the SV 160 T. 17 ft. We are having difficulty putting the pop out bed back because the mattress seems to slide when you lift the pop out then you can’t curtain off the bed. It has a folding or hinged end on the mattress which goes either in or to the outside we have no instructions and the former owner didn’t seem to know much about it.
Hopefully I have explained myself well enough but someone out there must have the tricks required to stow that bed away with the mattress still in the pop out.
Thanks in advance. Nothing on line or you tube has been helpful.
Thanks
Zanzi

Having now owned 2 hybrids (2005, 2013 Aerolite's) All hybrids are different.

Our 05' had two bundgy cords per bunk mattress that hooked near the ceiling in a "X" pattern (smaller folded part of mattress towards the outside of trailer.

Our 13' is a whole different animal. Since we added a 2" mattress to each one, the rear bunk mattress no longer fits upright in the closed cavity. Meaning the rear bunk door will not close all the way after the 2" topper was added. That one gets laid across the pit dinette. And usually the other front mattress also gets laid across the table too.

Do you have and bundgy cords? If you do have factory installed ones, there should be two "eyelet" hooks just above the top of the bunk door frame at head level. Our rear bunk doesn't need any because the bathroom wall has a cavity for the mattress to rest up against.

Queen pop out bed

Hi and thanks for the suggestions, we don’t have bunnies like you described but two straps with snaps on the mattress but no receiver snaps anywhere to snap it on to. The mattress has two folds in one end but I’m not sure which end goes out.
The tent part has Velcro all around it to keep it down and snug while it’s up. Do you have to losses the Velcro and then close the door when stowing it away?
She’s all stored away and winterized now so in the spring we will have to try other things.
Thanks again for your help

Our 2005 hybrid had the Velcro, and yes you have to "un-velcro" it to close up the bunk door. Our 2013 hybrid is permanently attached. I didn't think I would like it attached, but takes less time to close up.

Basically you just have to find a place to store the mattresses. But if you do store them upright with the bunk door, just make sure it doesn't push out the bunk door when in the closed position.

*** On both our hybrids, we had to add a 3/4" half round rubber self-sticking weather striping to the inner edge of the "front" bunk door trim edge where it sucks up in the closed position to keep rain / water out when your driving in bad rain storm. So 3/4" wide by maybe 1/4" tall weather strip. It would only happen while driving into a driving rain storm on the highway.
