Prolite by Roulotte

Hello all, I’ve sold my 38’ Class A MH and am looking at a 2000lb TT. This company is based in Canada and makes what looks like a great little trailer, I’m looking at the Prolite Escapade. Lots of function. They seem to be hard to find in the lower 48. Anybody ha e experience with these? Can you make a suggestion for an alternate. I’ll tow with a 2019 Kia Sorento which has a 2000lb weight limit and 280lb tongue capacity..

There are dealers in the US that sell them. One in Oregon and Michigan, maybe others. Used one available on RVT and other sites. Google it, Prolight RV in US. I’ve seen the factory tour online and it looks like a good product. Not sure why you say it’s difficult to find.

Be careful of weights. Tow capacity 2000#, trailer weight 2000#. You will not be able to carry anything in trailer.

You have to remember that 2,000-lb tow capacity has to include not only the trailer, but all cargo in the trailer, all cargo in your Sorrento, and the passengers in the Sorrento. In my opinion, you will be severely overloaded. You probably need to think about a 1,000-lb trailer or a larger tow-capacity vehicle. With only 2,000-lb tow capacity, it is obvious your TV does not have a towing package. Without that actually, I would not tow anything at all. I believe the Sorento’s that have a tow package are around 3,500 to 5,000 lb tow capacity and all wheel drive for more robust rear axle. That is what you need for towing. Not sure you can aftermarket a tow package and hit that 5,000 lb number.
