Remove fresh water tank for storage
Hello,
I would like to remove my fresh water tank to make more room for storage under my dining bench. I only use city water. My question is, if I remove this tank will I have a leak once hooked up to city water? I am not sure how the water system works.
Thanks in advance

This would be terrible for resale, AND, there are places that only let you use the water to fill your tank, not to hook up 24/7. They are uncommon but exist.

The tank is just sitting freely under the bench. Actually when I purchased the camper the tank was disconnected and removed and I hooked it back up. I would keep the tank incase I wanted to use it or if I sell. I am not sure if the previous owner used it with or without the water tank.

Fill Line......remove or cap off
Pump Suction Line.......remove /cap off (pump connects to same cold water system city water supplies----pump has an internal check valve to stop backflow but they fail)
**Remove pump and cap off discharge line (12VDC wiring/piping)
Tank Vent line
Tank drain line
Tank overflow line

If it were me I would not remove anything other than the tank.
Pull fuse or mark breaker for water pump... even disconnect & cap/ plug hoses / tubing but leave it there for easy reconnect if /when desired.
Same with vent, fill, drain lines.
If it came without the tank (or disconnected) just think about what was needed to reinstall to make operational. In this case IMO less is better.

I was thinking along the same lines. I figured I would cap off all the lines and leave them there. It was easy to originally hook it up, except for the tight space. For a camper with little storage, this would be a huge benefit.

You want to put valves at the ends if you winterize

We have used the Dometic Go-jugs in our Aliner and loved it. We also use them on the picnic tables for a fresh water supply. The white spigot replaces the cap. No drips! This just might be a good alternative for you. The capacity is 2.9 gallons or 11 liters. My bride likes these as she can carry them. $70 at REI.

Seems all you really need to do is reverse the steps you took in post #3.

Keep in mind, many CG's require RV's to be self-contained or be turned-away.
