Help! I was winterizing my newly purchased used 2000 hybrid today when water sprayed out of the top/back of the toilet when I pressurized the system. The toilet is a Thetford and it is mounted in a shower/toilet combo room-the toilet is in the shower. (Any official name for this?) Any ideas of what to look for or should I just go ahead and pull the toilet to see what is up. It is not leaking where the toilet hose connects to the hose coming out of the wall. If I open the sink in the kitchen area it does not leak but as soon as I shut the faucet it sprays out of the toilet.
If I do have to pull the toilet is it much different tha a home throne. Is there any type of seal to replace?
Thanks!

Type in "thedford toilet repair" in your search engine, there's a whole bunch of repair info there. On my old one, I could pop off a cover that allowed access to the shut off and handle mechanism, maybe something cracked in there from the cold?

The combo is called a 'wet bath.'

Pull lightly on the pipe. Has it come off the toilet? That can happen to any connection if you blow the system with too much pressure (more than 40 or 60 psi). If you can't easily see the leak, you'll have to pull the toilet. It's real easy:
- If you can, drain and flush the black tank
- Pressureize the RV by having a fan blow fresh air in.
- Turn off the water and reveive the pressure in the line (no problem for you
- Flush the toilet to remove water from the bowl
- Evenly loosen the two bolts holding the toilet to the floor
- Carefully pull the toilet straight up off the bolts. Be sure not to strain the fresh waterline too much. Oh, and don't loose the bolts down the drain.

You won't need to replace the gasket if it looks good since it isn't that old. They are rubber, not beeswax like a home toilet.

Good Luck!

Bruce
