You could attach them to the rear bumper of the camper, just don't forget that they are there when you leave.

We show our dogs so we are always traveling with three Golden Retrievers. We use Xpens and tie out lines if we are sitting outside with them.

As to food, we carry a full size 40lb bag in our Van, I have a feeding station inside the trailer and a cupboard that is devoted to their gear, food, canned salmon, dog first aid kit, and grooming equipment.

Traveling with large dogs is very workable if you just pay attention and make sure they don't bother anyone. We have been traveling with our dogs for many years and have never had a complaint.

We buy dog food in 14 lb bags and haul it in an 18 qt container with a lid the “locks” on with the two handles. We buy food on the road when we know the container will take a whole bag.

Our gal, Seti, is with us all the time. We in the trailer, she is. We outside, she is on a 5 ft leash, sometimes extended with a 10 ft length of rope to give her more space. We walk her twice a day, 2 to 3 miles each time. She is WAY to valuable for us to let her out of our sight.

Thanks! You are right. they will be where we are, that's all they want! They are older and probably won't pull the tie outs out of the ground. we just figure they would like to go between us, and see what we are doing and don't want to get them all wrapped around, hence the retractable stake out.
