Venture Stratus

New to this forum and to rving. We are looking at a 2019 Venture Stratus. They appear lightweight enough to be pulled by our 1/2 ton Nissan Titan SV short bed. However I can't seem to find any reviews on them. Are they a good, well made travel trailer for a pair of newbies?

What is the model number. What does your truck manual call for, for maximum towing and cargo capacity?

It's a SR261VRK. Dry weight is 5,850 lbs. Dry hitch is 500 lbs. dry axle wt is 5,260 lbs, net carrying capacity is 1,150 lbs, and GVWR is 7,000 lbs. The trailer is 30'3" from tip of tongue to back bumper, so about 27' box. My truck is rated for 9200 lbs.

I was just curious if the Venture Stratus was a good trailer (well built).

My truck is a 2011 Nissan Titan SV shortbed crew cab with a V8 5.6 engine with a tow pkg added. Towing weight is 9200 lbs. We would also have a Husky hitch with anti sway bars added.

That all looks good. IMHO, all the manufacturers have some quality issues. Stay on top of any warranty repairs. Also suggest looking around to see what specialty tools might be needed to make small repairs/modifications on your own. Enjoy!

I think you are pushing the top end of your truck’s capacity, especially for a longish TT. You might want to read many of the posts in the Towing section. Based on rear axle ratings and payload, many 1/2 ton owners are recommending somewhere around 6,000-6,500 lbs gross with plenty of margin, and it seems most of those are 24-25 ft boxes. It may theoretically work but the experience may be white knuckle and you could be moving up to 3/4 ton shortly.
