Awning problem

Help! I use my 24 foot trailer for events for kids. I have carnival games etc.
church where I was doing an event started setting up before I got there. Rookies tried to open the awning by taking legs off the trailer at the bottom where legs click in. They tryed to force it open without releasing the lever up top.

When I arrived I could not get the lever to release the awning it is jammed. Shaft in middle looks slightly bent where it attaches the leg. Anybody know how I can fix this. I don't have money to take it in. Can I fix this on my own or is it to dangerous or specific skills needed or tools needed. I serve snow cones etc from under awning. The trailer is center piece of event I need to open my awning.

Need to have someone hold and apply pressure on roller tube (rotate slightly to relieve pressure so locking lever can be disengaged)

As for bent leg/arm.......if you can force it to slide where you can get to it....use some C-Clamps to flatten bend/kink

Should be able to DIY with normal tools
