Looking at a Spartan 1245 ???

Been following this forum for a while now and have gain much insight. Coming close to pulling the trigger. Momentum, fuzion, rapture, cyclone, voltage and Jayco have been on the list. Currently have a 2012 sportsman 26 ft TH, been a great rig for our first. But to small for the direction we are heading.

Wife is set on the 1/2 bath in the rear and I reel do not want to settle on anything less then a true 14ft garage. Lot of the floor plans she likes come with a shorter garage with the bath encroaching into the garage. She ran across the Spartan 1245 and like the floor plan, 1/2 bath and 14ft garage.

I just have not read any reviews or comments on this rig. So please if anyone out there has knowledge of this rig/company please I would very much like to hear from you. I believe it’s a prime time / forest river company that builds this rig.

Also, if anyone has experience purchasing a rig from the factory directly dealers and ship or went and picked there from the west coast I would like to hear of you experience good and bad.

Again thanks...

We bought our Spartan 1245 three months ago from Fun Town, in Denton, Texas. We just spent 6 weeks in it on a trip to Utah and love it. It is a massive 5th wheel, but tows very well behind an F350. The garage is spec'd at 12 feet, but you lose some of that as the deck angles down at the beavertail to match the ramp angle. Very few problems out of the box, but I owe that to a great dealer, and my constant need to fix, move, upgrade, or change everything I see.

Thanks.. that’s me as well. Fuss with it and fuss with it. You know the funny thing i swore I saw that it had a 14 ft garage last night when the wife ran across it. But this morning all I find is 12. Lol. Might have been wishing... I started out want to keep under 40 ft. Well that changed a bit.

May I ask how hard is it to find places to pulling with all that length. I have an F350 DW as well. Plenty of towing ability there. My skill leve not a concern, just no experience pulling into places with all that length.

Thanks again

I had never pulled a 5th wheel in my life, so I kind of just jumped in the fire. I have yet to have a problem with the length in a variety of state and private parks, but I also check out where I am going to assure no surprises. I have been amazed at the number of big rig and pull thru sites available. I am sure the length will affect us at some point, but nothing yet. BTW, we are 62' bumper to bumper.
