Looking for water

Ok, this might be a dumb question for most of you but we are new owners and getting ready for our first trip. Our first stop will be boondocking so we'll need to have fresh water on board.
I would rather not drag around 1000 lbs of water until I'm near my destination if possible. So far, my internet searches aren't coming up with much. Ill be in the north central area of Florida and FDOT doesn't say water is available at any of the 67 rest areas. We are also planning on heading north of Florida this summer so what do you folks do when its time to fill your water tank?

Thanks,
Ken

Depending on your time-line for the first boon-docking stop and that this is your first time out, fill up at home. Your usage per day is unknown at this time, so take enough to complete the first stop. You are still going to be hauling around the 1000# of water, either fresh or in the black and gray tanks.
At the next stop, if it is a regular RV Park, dump the tanks and replenish the water you might need for the next leg of your trip. You should start to see a daily usage pattern develop. Let that be your guide for future fresh water requirements.
We always leave home with at least 1/2 load of fresh water in addition of bottled water for drinking.
Some of the road-side rest areas that have seen that are equipped with dump stations will have fresh water, but most have signs that state Not Potable. I would follow that recommendation.
Enjoy your new adventure and stay hydrated.

There are several options depending on where you are going, many RV dump stations also have potable water available, check https://www.sanidumps.com/ near your destination, also many campgrounds, both public and private will let you dump your tanks and refill your water tanks for a nominal fee (often $10), Truck stops also often have water available, though the potable question tends to come up on this.
