Ramp Door

Anyone have any experience replacing or repairing one that has soft spots? What was the process, and what can I expect the expense to be?

If it’s a Lippert door, they are about 3 to 4 grand to buy. For just the door and aluminum trim. The newer zero g doors may be more.

They can be repaired if the exterior skin is intact. You would need a good fiberglass shop to do it or some redneck level diy skills

Exterior skin is still good, but it looks to have some water damage inside. Couple soft spots.

This guy went all out- but you can see how he rebuilt the core and then just glued the skin on the outside. Your door has 1/8” wood inside with similar foam between. When the door comes off and the aluminum trim is removed you can pull the rubber to find a 1/8” sheet of wood covering the frame and foam. It may just need a new layer of wood inside, a new sheet of rubber, and new gaskets.

I would definitely try a repair and if your not capable any good body shop would be a good place to start asking questions. I myself believe I'd tackle the door myself before spending big bucks on a stock door and end up with the same problem
