Hey Everyone:

Your county is next...Limits On OffRoad Use on Private Property.

I don't know about you, but even though there may be some people that don't respect their neighbors rights to "peaceful" co-existence, this is NOT the way to go. What's next? I personally see it as a "slippery-slope" issue that will degrade the freedom of one's right to do what they want on their property- good or bad. Bad news for us in San Bernardino County is that they're thinking of the same thing. Here's the jist of what is likely to happen here shortly:

1) Motorcycle Noise Limit of 50db's for use on your property.

2) Limit of one (1) rider per 10 acres and limits riders to stay 100 feet from another's property and 250 feet from their homes. (More area can be had with a neighbor's consent, but more than four riders will require a conditional use permit that could cost as much as $10,000, "officials said").

3) Staging areas with 10 or more people would require a special-event permit, which would be $150 and require neighbors to be notified.

This is not a good day for the OHV crowd, but even though the supervisors have been looking at this issue for the last two years, it is NOT YET in the books- there is still some time, albeit unlikely, that you can sway their minds.
