Thoughts on Dutchman Voltage 4195

Looked at the new for 2020 Dutchman Voltage 4195. I like the fact it has a separate living room and kitchen. I know the kitchen is small but we grill out most of the time. I have no experience with trailers so I'm asking for thoughts on the Dutchman line. Thor builds many lines, where does this one fit?

I looked at that thing online. Yeah that rig is a beast. We had some neighbors parked next to us while going thru Kentucky last spring that had one. He really liked his. It's big a took him a few tries to get that monster into the site.

But I will make this point just to give you something to consider.

We've talked to a lot of folks the past couple of years while traveling and these big heavy 5vers and the like, they beef them up with 17" rims and bigger tires and some even get the heavier axles, springs etc. I know you have 3 axles but you also have a bunch of weight too. Something to consider.

And of course you're going to need a dually to drag this puppy.

That's a big trailer. Comming from toy haulers to a motorhome and pulling my toys in a trailer. And I have had a Voltage, a Stryker and a Sundowner. The 1st 2 were in the 35ft range, the Sundowner was 42ft and hard to manuever. Lasted 6 month of possession


Build quality is not what your used to in a motorhome.

As stated above they are riding on twigs. If I ever get another it will imedietly go to a fab shop and have a sub frame built and 3-8k# torsion axels installed. Weekest point of these things.


Oh AND 46FT is one hell of a long rig.

I like the Voltage floor plans. My thoughts on them are:

I don’t like Lippert drop Z frames on a big toy hauler. And that is a big hauler.

I prefer 8k Dexter axles. The Voltage comes with 7k.

I prefer G rated tires. The F tires Dutchman is using barely add up to the GVWR.

Just a few big items that I can’t help but notice.

From past observations of some Dutchman trailer, they are not a better build quality. Never had one, but have seen a few. Personally I wouldn't consider one for me. YMMV
