14 months since bearing repack.

My Winnebago TT is only used to winter in Florida from Michigan each year. I have the wheels repacked every December before I leave for the 2400 mile round trip then store it from March to December again. Last month on my way down it dawned on me I forgot to do it before I left. I had a lot of chaos in my life beforehand. Very nervous on the way down but arrived in Florida fine. Now I have to return home in March and the prices to repack are crazy down here. I know it’s a simple job, but I’m not doing it. So the bottom line is the owner’s manual says 10000 miles or 12 months. If I don’t do it it will be 4800 miles but 14 months. I’d rather not have trouble of course just wonder if I’m being too anal about the time frame?

I only repacked when I bought the trailer, the axle has the zerk fittings so I can grease with a gun. So every year I jack it up and pump a half dozen shots into the axle. To be safe we carry a harbor freight temp gun and at least once a day I shoot wheel bearing and brake drum temps as soon as we stop.

Peace of mind vs 1200 miles of worry. Guess it depends on if you are a pay me now or pay me later type of person. Or your supply of Tums.
I wouldn't worry about it until you get back home to a mechanic you can both trust and afford.

I repack my bearings myself every year along with all the other RV maintenance. I do know that once a year is overkill since the bearings and grease are perfectly fine when I take everything apart. I have skipped the process for a year when life gets in the way with no problems.
I would head home and get back on track for the next service date.

I would go by the 10,000 mile interval rather than the time interval.....stuff doesn't typically wear out from sitting and unless it's a boat trailer, the once a year interval is
overkill in my opinion.....overkill can't hurt though. I have my brand new trailer's bearings greased, adjusted and brakes adjusted them I'll look at in maybe 3 years....I only put on maybe 2,000 miles a year. I have 8 trailers at work and the bearings might get checked when the tires are replaced every 3-5 years.....been doing this for 30 years and haven't had a single bearing failure yet.

It’s not being backed into water like a boat. 14 years would be a likely failure time with low mileage. Just enjoy your trip and do it when you get home.

Packing bearings. I always followed the 10K miles re-pack schedule. The axle manufactures make a common axle for use any type of trailer. Boats, camper, equipment trailer, etc.. So the maintenance schedule is for worst case, which is boats where you drive all day to submerge a hot hub in water to launch a boat. In these conditions you can have water leakage and re-packing becomes time sensitive.

Don't understand the 1 year on berring repack. On older cars with drum brakes, repacked berrings when you did brakes. Around 30,000 miles or so.

There is no need to worry. Grease doesn't just break down because it reaches 12 months.
Go with the 10,000 mile recommendation and you will have zero problems.

If I'm going to pull them and repack them, I'm going to replace them. Trivial cost, and the work is mostly already done. So I do a five-to-ten-year cycle on trailers.
