We are thinking of looking for a different camper because we have decided we want bunks. We think it would be nice not to have to make the bed every night! Any suggestions on brands?

Most of the major players now have models in that size range with bunks. We had a Rockwood 5th wheel with bunks for 3 years and loved it. We only got rid of it because we upgraded to a larger Wildcat. I have been very happy with Forest River products.

We own a 2003 Layton Lite 248 XL which has bunks in the rear and full bed up in front. We absolutely love it and use it often. With two pre-teen children it is ideal. I think the 26' and 27' BH models come with a goucho couch and the 24' and 25' BH models do not. Not always, but for the most part this is true. We shopped and opted for the 248 based on the fact that most of our time is under the awning and we basically use the rig to sleep and sometimes eat in doors during the fall season camping. IN my opinion, you can't go wrong with the BH models with kids. They have their own space and you don't have to keep breaking things down all the time. Not to mention the rig is easy to pull with a 1/2 ton.
