50 amp to 30 amp

I have a 2020 Grand Design Reflection TT that runs on 50 amp Service. Iím going camping to a great campground but alas they only have 30 amp service. Iíve bought a Kohree 30 amp to 50 amp plug system. Do I still need to use a surge protector at the post? If so, is it a 30 amp unit that I should use? Thanks.

Got a 50A Portable Surge Protector...

Plug the 30/50A Adapter into the Power Pedestal 30A Receptacle
Plug 50A Surge Protector into adapter
Plug RV Power Cord into Surge Protector

30A Receptacle only has One HOT Leg
30A/50A Adapter jumps that Hot to BOTH legs of the 50A side
Both Legs on 50A side will be HOT
Surge Protector Looks at Voltage not amps

Used that exact set up on my 50A 5th wheel MANY times

30A is Max you can draw before tripping the 30A CB at Pedestal
Fridge on AC...can run one A/C Unit
Water heater on propane due to wattage of element/11A draw

Microwave...turn A/C off

Remember 30A is 3600W TOTAL
50A is 6000W per Hot Leg===12000W total

IF your RV has a Hardwired Surge Protector/EMS then just plug in the 30A/50A adapter and then your RV 50A cord

Old-Bisket, perfect setup and use description. Thanks for posting. There should be a sticky with this and other non-matching setups ( i.e. 50-30, 20/15-30 ). Would be very helpful. This seems to be a common question.

to keep track of my power usage I have a Hughes watch dog EPO , I can look at how much power I am using in real time via my blue tooth on the cell phone app. seams very accurate and you can use it to monitor your monthly usage should you decide to seasonally rent a site.
