Accordian shower door versus shower curtain

I have a 2005 Forest River /Salem trailer with a accordian type shower curtain/door that does not function well,I am thinking of removing this and replacing with a rod ,liner and curtain any thoughts or experience ?

Roadblock... I have had mine both ways....curtain and accordion. I prefer the accordion style. The curtain seems to get snagged on my legs as I shower and I just hate that stuff clinging on me when I shower. I went back to the accordion after originally switching to curtain and even changing out the rod to a curved shower rod. Just a thought to add to yours.

Hi Craig - hope this isn't hijacking...

I'm considering the same change. Did you use the Extend-A-Shower type (expanding/folding) or a fixed (curved) rod? If the former, were you happy with it?

Thanks!

Glad you're aboard. Best of luck on a solution to your shower door. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

So the question is... what does not function well about it? And what about a regular curtain and rod would be better?

I very much prefer the accordion type. The top on mine is a radius, so you get extra space inside. The regular curtain will almost always spill out water at some point. The key with any curtain is to keep them closed when not in use so they dry and don't get moldy.

We had two issues with our shower curtain. First of all it was entirely too long and extended down into the bottom of the tub. Since it was cheap with no border, I simply cut it off. The streight track that the curtain was on caused the shower to be so closed in that you could hardly turn around. We picked up a folding rod at Camping World and it works great.

I used the curved rod...when I had the curtain in place.
