Adding protection to exposed edges on outside storage
I was unhappy with the exposed edges in my outside storage areas especially dragging things across the opening repeatedly. Added 0.5” x 0.5” aluminum edge with #6 SS screws.

Ah nice! When I replaced my hatch I put 2 layers of butyl flashing tape down to create a sill seal of sorts (stuff they put around residential window nail flanges during install). It definitely smoothed over the edge, protects the exposed wood and keeps water from going into the poly under the trailer since the tape extends all the way past the bottom of the wall. Also...good idea to seal the gap between the wall and the floor. If water gets between there it will most likely destroy that part of the floor. Unfortunately my hatch still leaks even though it was a new replacement...piano hinges leak terribly and no way to fix it. So ill order one from recpro with hurricane hinges next year. Till then...rolled up towel soaks up the drips!
