My knee jerk response is 'it looks like it will support 100lbs bouncing up and down'. At least for awhile but as the bumper metal gets fatigued all bets are off.

That kit would improve the odds of it lasting. Maybe for a long time.

Thinking about it a bit more I think I would add some angle iron plus that kit. Angle iron to spread out the force on the bumper. I don't think the angle iron would need to be too thick...just enough to reinforce the bumper.

Thinking of building a beefier bumper that's tied onto the frame further back. Wonder if that will effect my hitch weight to much.

Simple mods like this can have unintended consequences, that being possibly trailer sway, even to the point of loss of control. 100 lbs on the back bumper is a lot. When that weight gets to swinging back and forth, its not easy to stop and can continue or get worse.
Proceed with caution.

Someone ended up buying the boxes for what I wanted so I sold them, so now worries. With my f550 cc with 12deck it's hauls pretty straight, probably even if I did add extra weight lol

I welded support gussets from the trailer frame to the bumper then I fabricated a rack to carry an aluminum tool box filled with camping gear. Works for me.

Nice job. This something I’ve thought about but have been hesitant to do. Where do you carry your spare tire?

Spare tire in strapped in between the box and trailer. Tire mount bolted the back of the box that prevents fore and aft movement. The straps prevents bouncing. Tire does not touch the box nor the trailer.

Thanks for the pictures. I must need new glasses. Went back to your other photos. Not sure how I missed that.

I bought these strong and light weight storage boxes from Farm and Fleet for $70 each. I bolted them down. They have a central lock and provisions for pad locks on each end.
