Advice on which brand of travel trailer to buy

We have narrowed our search down to 2 bunkhouse style travel trailers. I have a newer Toyota Tacoma sport which they say can tow 6800 lbs but want to chose as light as possible. So it’s between a 2019 Jayco Jayflight Rocky Mountain model 242 BHSW. Or a 2018 Forest River Wildwood Xlite, Model 243BHXL.
Both have dry weight around 5500 and length of 29’.
Price difference here in Vancouver, BC is basically $4100 more for the Jayco and it looks to have less storage spots and less electrical outlets and no USB outlets in the bunk area. Thoughts???

Those are way way too big for your ?Taco. You will exceed the receiver rating and the trucks payload rating. Tow ratings on all trucks are for marketing purposes. Most trucks can never tow the advertised tow rating because they will exceed the payload rating 1st.
A 6000 lb TT will have a tongue weight between 600-900 lbs. That will be more than the tacos receiver rating.

That's too much trailer for that truck. Here's a whole thread about trying to tow a 24' (box) trailer with a Tacoma...

Long story short: he either overloaded the truck or had significant problems with sway. He ended up selling the trailer.

Either of those are too large for that truck.
Instead of looking at at marketing tow rating numbers, pay more attention to GVWR, GCWR, and axle loads.
And rating numbers aside, those trailers will drag that truck around the road like a puppet.
If your new to towing, it can be an extremely terrifying experience towing a poorly behaved trailer. When the trailer is too big and can yank the truck all over the road, it’s outright dangerous.

The first thing you need to know is what is your truck rated/capable of towing. The quickest way to find this out is looking at the "Cargo Carrying Capacity" sticker on the driver's side door frame. The CCC will include all of your gear, passengers, hitch with WD setup and the tongue weight of the trailer. These add up quickly and can easily overload tow vehicles. Not just your Toyota but on all setups. This marketing gets many people into trouble. Can your truck haul it? Probably. Can it do it legally? Probably not. The most important aspect of this for me is, if I had an accident and lawyers got involved, would I be risking my families financial well-being? Everyone must come to their own conclusion here. Agree with 1361, you need to look at your inside door sticker to see what “your” truck will pull !! Not at the marketing numbers that don’t include any options on your specific vehicle
