air conditioner woes

we have a 2008 sunnybrook sunset bunkhouse with 2 slides---- we bought it used in 2013- have had no probs until last week.. had a lot of company so the door was getting left open constantly with the ac running- doing double duty..that night i woke up to find our bed wet- it was dripping from the air vent/sky light over the bed.. shifted the camper so now it runs to the other of the bedroom area and down the wall(where the window is).. the ac unit sits over the kitchen area and the ceiling is not wet or bowed anywhere from the unit to our bedroom..does the ac unit have to be replaced? rip the ceiling up ? anyone else have this issue?

AC's when running produce condensate which usually drains off the roof to the ground. Were you camping in high humidity? That would create more condensation as well as all the ins and outs goin's on.
You can add a drain kit to direct the condensation to a drain tube. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...sl_jngadkzq8_b

Is it draining off the roof outside anywhere? Perhaps the drain is clogged up

I was going to start a new thread on my AC condensation issue but then I saw this. I noticed water dripping off the roof through the little gutter but I did not follow it to the source. I assumed it was from the Ac (condensation) but this morning, I worried that it was somehow coming from beneath the roof because I did not actually see water draining from the unit to the gutter.

This drain tube you speak of - is it built in? Would it be visible? Should I be able to see the condensation coming from the unit to the gutters?

Two thoughts.

Condensate draining off the roof is not a problem. It is what roof ACs do. Tellsmyou it is working. Simple. Reliable as gravity. If you install an internal drain, it WILL require continual inspection and maintenance to make sure it is not bolcked up. Left unattended in your maintenance schedule, it WILL, sooner or later, clog up. Probably at the most inconvienient time and place. (Murphy's Law)

The other matter is that the condensate leak from the skylight is signaling that you need to inspect the caulking at the skylight (in fact, the whole roof!!!) for damage and degradation.

Dr;
I am not an AC guy but our popup many moons ago had a roof AC unit. Once a year I would pull off the inside covers and inspect. Other than the bolts holding the unit to the roof was the cutout for the blower.
My guess would be, given the age of the TT the roof seal may need to be inspected/replaces or the bolt holes (depending on unit) might need to be sealed again. This is where silicon rubber really comes in handy.
If your unit is ducted this might be a little more tricky but again that would be the first place I would look for leaks.

You could try shutting the unit off and taking a garden hose and run water all around that area and check for leaking. That might disprove my theory about the seals. Hope that helps....
