Any tips for negotiating new TT?
We are about to buy a new TT - after just losing our MH in a huge fire. We decided on TT this time because we want the extra room that TT with a huge bunkhouse can offer.
We have narrowed it down to a Forest River Rockwood. It is a 2017 model that is new but I know they are already selling 2018 versions so this is something the dealer wants to get rid of.
This is a very reputable dealer who I used to buy the original MH. They literally went WAY above and beyond in regards to service last year so I really want to buy again from them.
My question - how much off asking price should we offer? They are asking about $35K...I was thinking starting at $27K, or should I go even lower - maybe $25k?- since it is an "older" new model.
We would have cash in hand so I would guess that would be another bargaining chip.
Thanks!

I think they all vary. My TT was listed at 36,000 but we were able to buy it for $23,000. Sales and discounts? It was a 2016 CrossRoads Sunset Trail 270BH, purchased June 2015. Ask as low as your comfortable with, good luck!

Despite your loyalty to your present dealer, shop it online. We bought our 2015 Grey Wolf new 31,000 list for $19,900. Our local CW would not budge from $24,000, shopped online and bought the same trailer from another CW 250 mile away for $19,900. I'll drive that for $4000 !

I would start at 23 and be firm. Don't let them dazzle you with throwing in addons instead of coming down on price.

Normal 30% off is 24,500. Being a 2017 I'd go 35-40% off. Remember you don't have to buy an RV, but they have to sell it. Personally I wouldn't go any less than 35% on the 2017.

If you can wait for a local (or kind of local) RV show, that's a good start. We knew what trailer we wanted (Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS) and waited for a winter show to make our offer. We wound up getting it for almost 7,000 under what the best deal we had seen prior to the show was by waiting for the very last day of the show and going in about 3 hours before it closed.
The dealer *REALLY* wanted to close one more sale, their desire really worked on our behalf.

Minimum 33% off. High volume dealer helps also as they can "deal" and have more wiggle room.
Depends on how bad they want to get rid of it. Negotiate any add on's you buy also.
