Appears like the wood soaked water and expanded which caused the front metal part of the trailer to separate. It's still solid to the touch but I believe with time this gap could be a bigger problem. Especially along the entire corner molding being shifted out.
Is there some kind of chemical that helps prevent rotting and absorbing water? I can't really think of many ways to dry this wood.
Tomorrow I plan on removing some of the old sealant. The previous owner used some kind of silicone on the corners which is nearly impossible to remove the corner molding. I'd like to apply seal-tite[emoji769]on the corners to prevent leaks. Main concern is removing old silicone sealant, stuff is on there strong.
