I'll have check mine but there may be a mfr name and model number stamped on the cylinder, usually on an end. I'll guarantee you it will be more than $20. If you want a generic replacement you need to know the stroke cylinder diameter and the pressure of the strut to get a more exact replacement. If you know the awning manufacturer you may be able to find a manual with that information. You will probably need to go to an RV dealer. There is one in Sevierville, Northgate RV in Alcoa near the airport, Tennessee RV Supercenter in Knoxville is a Jayco dealer and the ever famous Camping World on the Airport Hwy south of Knoxville.
You most likely will need to order the part, I doubt that anyone would keep something like that in inventory. I used to work at a parts counter for a multi office truck equipment company and sold many gas struts but there are so many lengths and pressure ratings it was not possible to stock much. When you replace it don't throw it away as the vendor may want it returned for warranty reimbursement. And even then since it is an OEM item may not be warranted for more than a year.
