Angry Awning Tearing

just notice that stitching on the corners of my awning are tearing out. One corner about 18 in. the other about 5 in. Trailer is 5 years old . We have always put it in when the wind picks up and when we leave the trailer. Any ideas how I can stop it from tearing any more ?

I told my wife that my mom used to darn socks to fix them, so she picked one old sock out of my drawer and loudly sez DARN as she drops it into the wastebasket! See how I darned one now you try it, darn the other one.

For the awning, the seam should be resewn and perhaps use some patching material to strengthen the seam in that area... The fabric gets stressed from rain, wind and even the way we open the awning and tilt it (manual awnings), electric ones seem to do both sides simultaneously.

I bought a kit from Amazon and re-stitched it. I'm not very good at it and the thread did not match, but the fabric was in pretty good shape and just the stitching was failing. I had to do both ends. I was able to thread through the old stitching holes and get it tight. It stopped tearing any further. It's not that hard but it helps if you can make it a 2 person job. One on each side of the fabric.

Put super glue on the thread that remains. It should reduce the possibility of further tearout, and maybe with the repairs listed above eliminate the need for a fabric replacement. Had an encounter with a hail storm that 'popped' a few of the threads on a slidetopper, the superglue has held for cpla years now.
Had all the stitching come out of my Carefree slidetoppers, the only thing holding it it place was the anchor screws on each end.
