Battery box a little smaller please.

I am looking for a group 27 battery box that is narrower than the snap top box that I now have. It is almost impossible to get either it or my propane cover off because of how the lid that covers the cable openings protrudes just a bit to far. Guess I could make some modifications but just thought I would see how someone else may a solved this problem.

My visual would be a lot clearer if I could see a picture.

And just how big is the box you have now? A handy tidbit of information, if youíre seeking suggestions on something smaller.

Here is "A handy tidbit of information"/Users/bobraden/Desktop/817kIBC-riL._AC_UY218_.jpg I want a box that does not have all of the pop-outs for battery cables all over the place. The box fits fine it’s the top that causes the problem..

OK the picture didn’t work and since it’s 5am and already 90 degrees on it’s way to 117, I won’t be going to the rv storage yard to take a picture.

I would try a West Marine or a Tractor Supply as they might have a thinner group 27 battery box. I would measure to make sure.

Again, without a picture it is hard know for sure. On mine, I would just turn the cover around so the cable openings face the other way. I could also try to use the end exits, cut off the side exits and fabricate closure for the open side exits. A plastic laundry detergent bottle and pop rivets would probably work fine.

Thanks everyone. After rethinking the situation I am just going to take the propane and battery mounts off of the trailer and fit a trailer tongue box. Found a couple that should work just have to wait until I get back from my next month long trip to get it done.
