Bearing Kit for 2019 Flagstaff Super Lite 26RLSW

I want to purchase a bearing kit to have on hand if needed. The label on the axle is Dexter 3722505 4000 lb . What is the correct kit and the best brand?

That part number appears to align with a 4K Torflex axle assembly. There is a reference table for the D40 (4000lb) axle hub assemblies in the Dexter Light Duty Catalog on Dexter's website. Below is a screen shot of the table that will include the various part numbers you are looking for. Lots of opinions on what brand and where to buy - I tend to prefer Timken bearing kits and I usually purchase them through Drive Train America. I like to carry a spare set as well - cheap insurance in my opinion.

MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE THE DEXTER NEVER-LUBE HUBS. bearings are entirely different and not easily replaced without proper tools.

A 4000 lb axle uses the same bearings that a 3500 lb axle uses.

The cheapest, easiest, BEST bearings to get are Timken SETS, which consist of a bearing (cone) and a race (cup) together in one box.

Outer bearing L44649
Outer race L44610
The L44649/L44610 together are know as SET4
Inner bearing L68149
Inner race L68111
The L68149/L68111 together are known as SET17 by Timken
Seal is a 10-19 ID 1.719 in, OD 2.565 in.
National seal # 473336 (1.719 ID, 2.565 OD, 0.5 wide w/double lip and spring)

You can buy the genuine Timken bearing sets for $8.99 from Summit Racing and the genuine Timken/National seal is about $6.

What? Should I be worried about this too? A 2019 travel trailer should have good bearings for a long time. Heck, a 2019 is just about brand new.

I think the keyword here is "should".... I've always carried a spare set regardless of age of the trailer or the current set of bearings. On my 2019 ORV when I went to do the first annual bearing repack I found one of the seals was blown - likely from the factory - and the bearing was starting to dry up. Had I decided to extend the usage before doing the repack, which I'm sure a lot of folks do, the potential for a failure was more likely than not. And it almost certainly would have happened at the most inopportune time.

My 2018 coachman viking 17bh i got that was 2 years old when i got it. It has the easy lube system. The bearing hub cap has a rubber plug it was cracked. It leaked water and took out the outer bearing. I repacked the bearings last spring and replaced the bad bearing. This spring I inspected the bearings again since it was towed 3000 miles last year. The grease for some reason was very dried out. I packed again with a different brand of grease. I will check again next year. Cheap and easy.

I am a member of the Bigfoot Owners Club and at least a couple of the owners of NEW trailers have experienced bearing failures. I think these were both 2019 models, and one was towed about 6000 miles when a bearing failed, I do not recall the details on the other one but I seem to recall it was even less miles. One required an axle replacement. The RV manufacturers depend on the axle supplier........ who provides the axle to the frame manufacturers, and then sends it along to the Coach company...... anyhow, they depend on the axle manufacturer to lube the bearings properly before the hubs are installed at Dexter or Lippert or whoever. In the situations I mentioned, the remaining bearings were checked and they had very little lube in them.

I recently replaced the hub/drums on my trailer with 6 lug during a wheel change over. The hubs came with races already pressed in, CHINA brand. I removed them and threw them in the scrap bin, and installed new Timken sets I listed above, that I personally had greased. If they fail, its my fault.

Dexter recommends once a year or 12,000 miles.

Bearing Kit for 2019 Flagstaff Super Lite 26RLSW

Thanks for the information!

I had a Castle Rock tire blow with less than 1000 miles on it !
Hopefully the bearings won't be a problem, but I like to be prepared.
