We are wanting a travel trailer that weighs less than 7000 pounds (dry weight.). What are the best brands? Any suggestions about a brand and model number would be appreciated.

I like the Flagstaff/Rockwood twins. They have torsion axles, and seem to me to be solid built trailers. You can get thermopane widows as an option too as well as slide toppers. I like the bigger more spacious Flagstaff 29RSWS as well as a few other models.

Winnebago would also be on my list of better than average built. In the Winnebago line I like the Mini Plus 27RBDS. (Rear Bath Double Slide).

Keystone Cougars most current trailers are rated for full time. And 0 to 100 temperature rating. To me this is mostly bogus advertising but means at least they are trying.

All three make small, medium and large travel trailers. All the small trailers can be towed with a 150/1500 series truck and maybe the medium trailers could be towed with a muscular 150/1500 series truck like the Nissan Titan XD with a longer wheelbase and thicker frame than the regular Titan.

Now the very best light weight travel trailer has to be the Lance. These trailers have a much lower ceiling and they have a semi areodynamic front. These can be towed with a 150/1500 series truck.

I like my Starcraft 21FB best, but that's just me.

Casita is a great one... the fiberglass shell will last and last.

Starcraft has a PVC roof which I give a [emoji106] to over a TPO or EDPM roof.

Look at the Starcraft 262RL which I like

You know that the title of 'Best light weight trailer' and less than 7,000lbs dry weight do not really go together?

6,500lbs dry weight is less than 7,000lbs dry weight but a 6,500 dry weight trailer might have 1,800lbs of cargo capacity making the GVRW 8,300lbs which to me is not a light weight travel trailer.

So how big/heavy are you really looking to buy?

Best and light weight do not go together. Your best bet might be to look at Lance and Arctic Fox.

And forget dry weights. Select your trailer and truck based on GVWR, not dry weight.

Not so sure Lance is still in the light weight category. Yes they are lighter than most others. But is also heavier than a lot of the light weight trailers.
Fit and finish, and materials used in construction is why I chose a Lance.
They are expensive, so the use needs to match the expense.

Have been doing a lot of camping this summer, and have noticed a lot of the Rockwood Geo Pro trailers. Seem to be quite popular.
