Best Roadside Service for TT?

My TT came with a year of Coach-Net....can't say anything positive or negative, because I haven't needed them. That expires soon. I get all kinds of offers from Good Sam, etc.

What is everyone using as far as services? Does anyone's insurance include it, so you are not paying for it as a separate service? I have Progressive, but no roadside (may need to call them to quote it in my renewal).

I've been using Coach Net for 8 years. I've needed assistance 3 times and they came through with flying colors. They also have tech support that can help you with problems that don't require service calls.

Good Sam, Coach Net, FMCA and now Escapees all use the same local tow companies. The tow service will be similar and vary by location. The customer service of each provider is what will be different. My insurance and extended warranty both cover me with roadside assistance so I have no personal experience with any of the above providers but I have heard many horror stories regarding Good Sam.

For me; CoachNet hands down. I've used them 3-4 times. Not an issue and customer service was fantastic. Once you call and open a incident, they will call you back with towing info and then about an hour later to make sure all is OK. One instance I got towed about 80 miles to a campground that I preferred with no additional fee.

I even called them once to tow my truck in to Ford for service. They informed me that my truck, being still under warranty, would be under Ford Road Service, but that they will dispatch a tow and then they would work it out with Ford. Other than making sure I got towed to the dealer, I never heard from them again.

I've used Coach-Net twice and the customer service was wonderful. So, I keep renewing with them.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like all good things with CoachNet. I called Progressive, and it looks like it is only $15 a year to add roadside to my insurance policy. That only includes 15 miles of towing though...so I guess I need to compare them to justify the cost difference vs. coverage.

Not sure I see a point in having roadside assistance on a TT or 5th wheel (or any other trailer for that matter). Bout the only thing that will stick you on the shoulder would be a flat tire and you should have a spare and the equipment to handle that. For what you'll spend on a year of insurance a good jack, 4 way lug wrench and blocking are easily purchased and you'd have money left over. On a Class A or B, I can surely see it as a motor or tranny issue isn't generally fixable in a parking lot.

What about the tow rig? My truck broke down once, and I needed 2 tow trucks. One towed my truck to the shop and the other towed my 5ver home. Also any plan with less then a 100 mile tow range can end up costing a lot of $$ when you go over your allotted miles.

I agree, if you are only using the plan to fix a flat.

You can have roadside added on your truck's policy the government requires you to have. The OP was referring to (as I understood it) a plan specifically for his TT, which I feel would be a waste of money.
