Black Awnings
Why is Arctic Fox going to black awnings? Seems to me, that black would be hotter, darker underneath, dirty, and not match the TT colors? Tks !

It's the trend.
And they are darker underneath; they are black. But how can they be dirty?

To answser your question: They got a deal on them, COST, that is the only consideration.
As for hotter,, No, not really,, LIkewise dirt, not really (though black and white are the worst for showing dirt) I would not complain about a black awning, Black ROOF yes, black awning no.

And........... I stand - "CLARIFIED" The new Arctic Fox awnings are only black for the last wrap or two. The black trim coordinates with the new black trim and caulking that is now replacing the old white trim and caulking -
that showed dirt so easily.. Way to go - Arctic Fox, super ideas !! Tks, Elk'em

My camping buddy always asks when they will get rid of the white underside of the awning as it is always so dirty or shows mold. Would love a darker awning that does not show as much.

Sounds like the real reason is something else, better protection for the material because the black material is more UV resistant and will show less wear and stains. Obviously most decisions are based on cost but we shouldn't be so hasty to place blame.

Maybe--just maybe it is for the same reason RVs made in the northern states are light inside and RVs made down south are darker inside.
Up north we don't see a lot of bright sun while down south the sun is very bright.
